Madison LoTs is a co-created community platform designed for sharing all kinds of stuff. It’s giving what you can and taking what you need because naming needs + having them met = power.
We live in a consumerist society that conditions us to purchase each and every thing we need. Madison LoTs is here to change that! As a peer to peer lending network, neighbors can lend and borrow stuff they might need only once — or once in a while.
Please note, LoTs is not a physical library or makerspace.
How to use the LoTs
Community Agreements of the LoTs
We agree:
- to lend and borrow things for free
- to treat everything we borrow with care
- to return items on time
- to return items in the same condition we got them
- that the lender decides the length, restrictions, and conditions of use of their Thing
- that the borrower accepts all responsibility for the use of the Thing
Borrowing and Lending
- Click here to browse the LoTs catalog to find the thing you need.
- When you find the thing you need, click the item name to see the lender’s contact info.
- Contact the lender to coordinate getting the thing you need.
- Return the thing to the lender when they want it back.
- Tell all your friends and consider listing something to lend!
